Hello and welcome to the August edition of The Developer News!
In our continuing pursuit of innovation and progress we have brought on board a new Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Brenton Brown. With his exuberant interest in Multi-Edit and his prior success as a business owner, I am proud to have selected him as our next leader within MESi. Please take a moment to review Mr. Brown's introduction article below and help me in welcoming him to MESi as we look forward to his leadership in the key years ahead.
Inside our Development Department, Dan has been working round the clock over the past few months seeking a resolution to our 'infamous' macro recording issue we encountered when Microsoft dropped their Journaling Hook support.
Today I'm pleased to announce that Dan has redesigned our macro recording code to work seamlessly within Vista despite the 'Journal Hook' drop! Get back to doing what you do best, faster and simpler with the v11.03.00 patch. Please note however that this support is only available in the 11.03.00 patch release. To benefit you must own ME2008 and update your copy, or purchase your upgrade today and utilize the offer within the COO Article below.

Alongside this newest Multi-Edit 2008 patch release, MESi has begun restructuring the presentation of our company, product and support information. We at the Mult Edit Software Development Labs are happy to announce the release of the latest Multi-Edit 2008 (v11.03.00) update.
This update includes the much anticipated keystroke macro changes that allow it to work under Vista. The changes were done in such a way as to permit old keystroke macros to continue to function. Support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 was also added.
Since we have converted to a common code base, all Multi-Edit packages were updated, this included MeLite, MeLS and mobileME. Below are the links to get your updated copy of each program or you can use the Help | Check for Upgrade menu from within your copy of Multi-Edit to download the update.

Updates vs Upgrades, What you need to know
With the announcement of our new 11.03 patch release, I want to clarify that this is simply a product update specific to Multi-Edit 2008 only. The update is completely free to all who are currently running Multi-Edit 2008, including the mobileME 2008, & is easily downloadable from our updates webpage @ http://www.multieditsoftware.com/downloads.php.
For those still running Multi-Edit 2006 (ver. 10.xx), ME91 (ver. 9.10), & older, the 11.03 update (patch-release) does not apply. In order to bring yourself up-to-date with the latest release, Multi-Edit 2008 v. 11.03, you must upgrade your current version. Please be aware that holders of versions older than 9.10 will not be allowed to order the upgrade thru our online ordering page. Only holders of Multi-Edit 2006 & ME91 are eligible to purchase @ the upgrade rates online. & be sure to review Mr. Brown's article highlighting our current 7-day sales promotion, which entitles you to a 20% discount off your entire Multi-Edit purchase. Support Notes
As with any software package there are always advantages to being at the latest release of the product. These advantages include newly added features, feature enhancements, documentation updates and bug fixes.
Checking what version of Multi-Edit you are currently using is as easy as clicking on Help | About to see what your current release is.
You can go about updating your Multi-Edit install using one of two methods. You may visit our product download page at http://www.multieditsoftware.com/downloads.php where all product patches, manuals and other items are posted, or by clicking on Help | Check for Upgrade. Using the Check for Upgrade option will automatically query our server and report back if a newer release of your version is available and allow for you to download the update immediately. You may also contact sales@multieditsoftware.com to request a replacement product download along with serial numbers or release codes if needed.
When 'updating' your installation of Multi-Edit an installation can be performed over the top of your current Multi-Edit install, which allows newer files to overwrite exiting files, or into a 'new' location. Either way your configuration and customizations will not be lost.
Remember when 'upgrading' your installation to a newer version of Multi-Edit you'll want to be sure to install to a 'new' location as a new release of Multi-Edit will need a clean installation path to avoid any file corruption. During the installation of an upgrade, you'll have an option to 'import' any previous installation configurations into your new install so that you can maintain all your settings from your previous version.
